January 5-8, 2004 : “Marriage and Family for the Sake of Christian Witness,” seminar for the United Methodist Congress on Evangelism, Nashville , TN , Opryland Hotel.  Dr. Gary W. Exman, President, UMC Council on Evangelism.

February 27-28: Dimensions of Healthy Men of God. Men’s retreat at Holiday Inn, 2800 Presidential Drive, Fairborn, OH off I-465, phone: 513-426-7800 begins, Friday, February 28 at 6 p.m. and ends Saturday noon, a ministry of Ginghamsburg Church [a United Methodist Community], Tipp City, Ohio.  Joining Dr. Mike Slaughter, senior pastor, in leading a men’s retreat. March 5-6, 2004: Greenville College Senior Seminar on Human Sexuality, Greenville, Illinois, Joy speaks in chapel on Friday morning on “The Mystery of Human Intimacy: Two Become One.”  Joy focus: Attachment as neurological and spiritual “hard wired” connecting between parent and child, adolescent/adult and courtship partner.  He then joins President James Mannoia for the senior seminar ending on Saturday noon .  Mannoia focus: False Intimacy as articulated in Harry W. Schaumburg. 

March 12 [Friday only]: Hardwired to Connect—Implications for an ‘Authoritative Community.” Faculty and staff retreat with Oakdale Christian High School team. Host Dr. Dan Fisher, President, dfisher@oakdalechristian.org

August 20-21: Four Seasons: Don’s Birthday dinner in Bardstown , KY , then on to Lincoln Birthplace and boyhood home, New Haven Railway Museum and model train exhibit, plus final show of the season of  Stephen Foster Story, and Sunday morning at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville .

September 19: “When God Breaks Through,” Sunday evening preacher at WFMC, 6 p.m.

September 22: “Intimacy with God—How God Breaks Through,” Wednesday dinner hour seminar at Broadway United Methodist Church , 1323 Melrose Street . Bowling Green , KY 42104 , host Bob Cain.

September 28: “Love for a Lifetime,” Joy presentation parallel to Dr. David Hager presentation on “Emotional Consequences of Teen Sexual Activity,” at Southern Hills UMC, south Broadway, Lexington , KY , 6 to 9 p.m.

September 25: Jason Joy and Nicole Lavy wedding celebration.  Wedding trip to Cancun .

October 22: “Raisin Grape Kids—How To Discipline Them,” with MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, meeting at Woodford Christian Church, just west of Bluegrass Parkway Entrance, Versailles, KY, 9:15-9:50 a.m. “speaking time,” hostess Meredyth Pepper-Davis.

October 22-23: Men Under Construction, two presentations at Men’s Retreat, 4-H Retreat Center, Faubush , KY. Host: Ron Redmon, director of men’s ministries, WFMC. 

October 28-31: President’s Retreat, host, President Jeff Dunaway of Asbury Seminary, Joys as “Golden Grad” guests, Naples Florida retreat center.

November 6-9: Renewal Conference at Central UMC , Fitzgerald , Georgia , Pastor Steve Waldorf, host.  Scheduled to fly into Valdosta , GA Friday, November 5, for all-day Saturday event plus Sunday through Tuesday evening November 9. 

November 12-13: “Many Splendored Hope Community,” with Kerry Turnbow at Hope Counseling Center training event for professional counselor staff, grounded in Staff reflection on family genograms, Jesus’ Beatitudes, and Hagberg’s Stages of Personal Power.  Fly November 11, return on 14^th.

November 18-21: “Priorities for Community Ministry,” multi level events planned for Messiah College campus church.  Dr. Terry Brensinger, minister. TBrensin@messiah.edu
